2022-2023 Season Theme: New Directions

Two years ago, Blue Demon Theatre started as a small student organization with only a handful of ambitious theatre artists. That small group of people had one mission: to actively support DePaul students in producing theatre that is creative, inclusive, and inspiring. Today, we are proud to say that we have continued that mission with over 320 members who have helped us produce 14 ten-minute plays, 9 special events, 2 musicals, 1 two-act play, and 1 original musical. 

For the 2022-2023 season, we have chosen New Directions as our theme. This theme will truly embody the bold, different, and exciting shows we will produce and our new path going forward. We have new board members, new directors, new playwrights, and we will be welcoming even more first year students to our organization this year. 

Our season will even be organized in new ways. We are dividing our season into three different types of activities: our mainstage series, our original works series, and our special events. This season, we are planning on producing two mainstage productions which will be well known musicals/plays that are performed at local theatres in Chicago. Our special events will include smaller performances and events that are on-campus and focused on building community among our members. Finally, our original works series will include two productions that are written by DePaul students and performed at local theatres.
