Chicago Theatre Discounts & Free Tickets for College Students
One part of Blue Demon Theatre's mission is to connect DePaul students with a variety of theatre in Chicago. However, as college students, we know that everyone is on a budget. Luckily, there are many ways to see discounted and even FREE theatre in the Chicagoland area!

SmarTix
SmarTix is a free ticket service for Chicago area university and college students that is organized by the League of Chicago Theatres. Through this service, Chicago area students receive complimentary invitations via email to attend select performances throughout the year. In the past, BDT members have been able to attend Broadway in Chicago touring shows and local theatre performances at Theater Wit, Drunk Shakespeare, etc.
All students will be asked to reserve their tickets directly with the theatre box office and must show their valid student ID at the box office when picking up tickets.

Goodman Theatre
Current college students can purchase $10 tickets to Goodman productions. See below how to purchase 10TIX tickets for productions in both the Albert Theatre and Owen Theatre.
FOR ALBERT THEATRE PRODUCTIONS
At 10am each performance day, the remaining rear mezzanine rows and partial view boxes are available for $10 per ticket online; just enter the promo code 10TIX prior to selecting performance date and seats. Also available in person at the box office starting at 12noon. A student ID must be presented when picking up tickets at will call; limit four tickets per student ID. All 10TIX purchases are subject to availability; not available by phone; handling fees still apply.
FOR OWEN THEATRE PRODUCTIONS
Students may purchase advance tickets to any Owen Theatre production for $10 per ticket using the promo code 10TIX prior to selecting performance date and seats. These tickets are not limited to day of performances. All tickets are held at will call and a valid student ID must be presented to claim them. This offer is available online or in person only. Handling fees still apply for tickets reserved online.

Steppenwolf Theatre
Steppenwolf Theatre currently offers students $15 tickets for all shows. For each ticket purchased, students must present a valid student ID from an accredited institution. Buying two tickets? You must present TWO student IDs at will call.
Note: There is a limit of 2 student tickets per order.
Subject to availability, student rush tickets are offered at the box office starting one hour before showtime.
